What is FOCAS? FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters) is a volunteer organization formed to help the lost and abandoned dogs and cats in the three shelters operated by the County of San Diego, Department of Animal Control.
What is Girl Scout FOCAS Teen Youth Council? Girl Scout FOCAS Teen Youth Council is a committee of Girl Scouts finding out ways:
" To assist dogs and cats in animal shelters.
" To create awareness to the public about the importance of spaying and neutering their pets.
" To provide community service at the shelters.
Who can join? Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts ages 11-17. Adult members may also join our meetings.

Festival of Lights
This is an annual event that happens in the fall. Troops can call starting around September 1 to sign up for training in November and choose their dates to work at the Festival in December.
Community service training
(required to earn the Girl Scout Community Service Bar).

This is for Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts only.
Younger Girl Scouts and siblings may not participate.
